RETROUVAILLE
Is a Catholic programme but is open to married couples of any faith, or none. It is offered as a gift from the Catholic Church to any married couple who wishes to heal the difficulties they are experiencing in their marriage.
The programme is presented by trained volunteers who themselves have experienced the programme and want to share the benefits they have experienced first-hand in their own relationships. The presenting team on the weekend also includes a priest who has experienced the programme and believes that it has something to offer couples in difficulties.
The next Retrouvaille programme begins with a weekend from 13-16 October 2022. It will be held online using Zoom and this will be followed up by face to face weekend from 24-26 February 2023 in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Do explore the ‘Retrouvaille’ website www.retrouvaille.org.uk for further information.
BEGINNING EXPERIENCE
The loss of a loved one through separation, divorce or death is one of life’s most traumatic experiences. It can result in unbearable feelings of grief and loneliness. The Beginning Experience, Scotland Team, would like to help. A weekend away for a lifetime of change is to be held at Conforti Centre, Coatbridge from 30th September to 2nd October 2022 – a time to heal by experiencing God’s love through others. An opportunity to begin again. For further details phone: Catherine on 0131 665 3383 or email beginningexperiencescotland@hotmail.com
R.C.I.A. (RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS)
Anyone considering becoming a member of the Catholic faith is warmly invited to come along to our R.C.I.A. course which will hopefully begin during the month of September. Please speak to Fr Frank, Deacon Tommy or Teresa Paolilo.
GIRL GUIDES
Our neighbourhood Girl Guides group is starting back on Wednesday 24th August at 7pm to 9pm in St Margaret’s Church hall (Knightswood Road). This group is open to all girls aged between 10 years and 14 years of age who are most welcome to come along each Wednesday evening.
LEGION OF MARY
Our local Legion of Mary Praesidium warmly invites you to its first Patrician’s meeting in St Ninian’s hall on Sunday 28th August from 3pm to 5pm. A Patrician’s meeting involves a short talk followed by an opportunity for discussion. We have chosen the subject of ‘Prayer’ and would like you to come along to share your thoughts and ideas. Refreshments will also be served. If you are interested in looking deeper into your faith please come along to join us and enjoy a chat.
HALL CAFÉ
We now have 7 parishioners who are willing to help organise and set up our Sunday morning hall café after 9am and 11am Masses. Again we appeal for more ‘helpers’ – our ideal number is for between 9 – 12 volunteers to help out on a ‘rota’ basis working as a team to prevent any pressure or workload on individuals. Please speak to Fr Frank or Deacon Tommy if you can help out. Many thanks.
