SUNDAY MASSES
As of weekend 21st and 22nd August our Sunday Masses are Saturday (Vigil) – 7pm, Sunday morning – 8am, 9.30am, 11am, 12.15pm. Sunday evening at 5pm. Parishioners will no longer be expected to book a place for any of these – or any weekday Mass. There is now no longer any restriction to the number of those who may attend Mass and no social distance is required. However, we ask you please not to make any fellow-parishioner feel uncomfortable by being ‘too close’ to those outwith your family ‘bubble’. Face coverings and sanitising of hands before and after Mass will still be required.
Children under the age of 12 are now no longer obliged to wear face coverings in Church (or anywhere else). The advice from our Scottish bishops has not changed and so we should still avoid shaking hands at the sign of Peace, avoid distributing Communion from the Chalice and avoid holy water stoops at the Church door. At the end of Mass – after receiving Holy Communion – we ask that you continue to use the side door exits until further notice.
At both weekend/weekday Masses you will be given a card by one of our parish stewards on which to sign your name and telephone number and Mass time and date for track and trace which we are still required to take. Please place these on the ledge of your benches before you leave Church. Many thanks.
Thank you
SPRED
Thank you for your welcome to the parish last Sunday (21/22nd). Thanks to everyone who stopped to say hello and ask about SPRED. You made me feel at home in St Ninian’s.
Our four friends are hoping for a positive response from you so that they can get back to their SPRED group. If what you heard last week touched your heart or made you curious to find out more, please come and meet some of our volunteers at an open evening.
There are two planned, one in our Church hall on Wednesday 15th September and one in the parish hall at St Andrew’s, Roman Road, Bearsden, the following Wednesday 22nd September, both at 7pm. If you would prefer, I’d be delighted to welcome you to the SPRED Centre in Provanmill for a cup of tea and a chat.
Please phone 0141 770 5055 or email lisbeth.spred@btconnect.com – Liz Raeside, Director of SPRED.
MINISTRY
We are happy to invite our parish readers and altar servers to resume their ministry at Sunday and weekday Masses and any parishioner to volunteer their services for these ministries in our parish. Again, we offer our sincere thanks to all who are actively involved in any aspect of our parish life and to so many unseen but vital contributions to the parish. It is truly appreciated.
