At Archbishop Tartaglia’s request, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation during the month of November for our parish (S1) pupils who were unable to receive this Sacrament while in Primary 7. We are presently finalising our list from St Thomas Aquinas and Notre Dame Secondary schools. If there are any parish schoolchildren (S1) attending other local schools now due to receive this Sacrament, please give your name to Fr Frank. Date(s) for Mass(es) of Confirmation will be set when numbers of ‘Confirmed’ is finalised.
CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK 2020 – JESUS CHRIST: THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE
Will take place this year from 16th-30th November. ‘At the heart of Catholic Education there is always Jesus Christ: everything that happens in Catholic schools and Universities should lead to an encounter with the living Christ.’
During Catholic Education Week we celebrate the importance of educating our children and young people in faith. We pray especially and in thanks for the staff and pupils of St Ninian’s Primary, Notre Dame Secondary, and St Thomas Aquinas Secondary and the most positive contribution these communities make to the spiritual and academic formation of our children’s lives.

ST MARGARET OF SCOTLAND (70 YEARS OF CARE) LIGHT UP A LIFE – SUNDAY 29th NOVEMBER 2020 AT 6.30PM
Light up a life is a special event at the Hospice which takes place on the first Sunday in Advent. This year’s Lighting up Service will be a virtual one, with the Service being live-streamed from the grounds of the Hospice. Each of the lights on the Christmas tree will be sponsored in memory of or in honour of a loved one. The tree will remain lit until 6th January 2021.
If you would like to sponsor a light for a loved one please take home ‘Light up a Life’ materials available as you leave Church today (at exit doors).
PARISH STEWARDS, TELEPHONE BOOKINGS, CLEANING OF CHURCH
Since ‘Private Worship’ and onto opening our parish Church for the weekend and daily Mass we have relied on and are truly grateful for the services of a group of faithful parishioners who act as parish stewards, take telephone bookings for weekend Mass, and deep clean and sanitise the Church each Saturday morning. If you are able to give some time to any of these ‘ministries’ at present please speak to Fr Frank – it is important that ‘too few’ are not too heavily burdened by too much work which can be shared by other parishioners.
