APOSTLESHIP OF THE SEA

Our parish will celebrate ‘Sea-Sunday’ on weekend 12/13th February (2022) Euan McArthur (Scottish development officer of the Apostleship of the Sea- ‘Stella Maris’ which provides pastoral and practical care to merchant seafarers will speak to us about this ministry at all our masses. Retiral collection in support of this organisation at all the masses.


SACRAMENTS OF RECONCILIATION, FIRST EUCHARIST AND CONFIRMATION

For our parish children of Primary 3, Primary 4 and Primary 7.
The children of Primary 3 – St Ninian’s will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation First Confession) on Monday 14th March (2022) at 7pm in our parish Church.
Parents meeting in preparation for this Sacrament will be held in St Ninian’s Church at 6pm on Thursday February 10th.

The children of St Ninian’s Primary 4 will celebrate their First Holy Communion on Saturdays 14th and 21st May (2022) at 10.30am morning Mass.
Parents meeting in preparation for this Sacrament will be held in St Ninian’s Church on Monday 28th March at 6pm.
The children of St Ninian’s Primary 7 will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday 1st June (2022) at 7pm Mass.
Parents meeting date – yet to be decided.
Parents/guardians of any of our parish children who are due to make any of these Sacraments – but do not attend St Ninian’s Primary school – are asked to give their names to Fr Frank in order for the children to be added to our register for these Sacraments.


CRIB APPEAL (2021)

Many thanks to everyone who has had the opportunity to pray for blood family, spiritual and world family during the display of our parish Crib. Special thanks to the Pearson family and Marion Bradley for setting up our crib and for all donations towards St Margaret Children and Family Care Society- which will greatly help to close the major funding gap caused by the pandemic and allow St Margaret’s to continue to support our adoptive families throughout Scotland. Our crib will be taken down on Wednesday (2nd Feb) – Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.


WORLD DAY OF CONSECRATED LIFE

Is celebrated on Feb 2nd – Feast of the Lord’s Presentation in the Temple. We pray on this special day – in particular- for our parish Sisters, Maria Goretti and Anne (Helpers of the Holy Souls) for their ministry among us and the blessings their witness continues to bring into all of our lives here in St Ninian’s – many thanks.


PIETY STALL

Is open on Sundays for any religious items you may wish to purchase. Our new Catholic journal ‘The Scottish Catholic’ which has replaced the Scottish Catholic Observer can be purchased on a fortnightly basis – priced £2 from the stall. If you wish to order any religious item please speak to Betty Barrie or ladies who manage the Piety stall.


BEGINNING EXPERIENCE- LISTEN, ACCOMPANY, HEAL

The Beginning Experience are holding a weekend for those who find themselves suffering bereavement through divorce, separation or widowhood. The weekend will take place from the
25th-27th March, 2022 at St Mary’s Monastery, Kinnoul, Perth. For details contact- Catherine on 01316653383 or email – beginningexperiencescotland@hotmail.com. Completed applications must be returned by 12th March 2022.


THE ORIGINALS – LAUNCH OF NEW MONTHLY GROUP

All 18 – 30yr olds are invited to an evening of discovery, fellowship and faith. Join RCAG Youth on Thursday, 3rd Feb, 6pm – 8.30pm, in St Peter’s Church Hall, Partick for ‘The Originals’ event. PARISH HALL

Is now reopened for parish groups and social occasions. Ladies Tuesday Night Dancing will recommence on Tues,1st Feb from 7pm – 9pm. New members most welcome.
Wednesday Café will recommence after 10am mass on Wednesday 2nd Feb.


MORNING MASS

Saturday 5th Feb at 9am (only). Saturday Evening (Vigil Mass) to begin 5th Ordinary Sunday at 7pm.


THE MASS OF OUR CELTIC ROOTS

Annual mass during the Celtic Connections Festival will take place this year in St Leo’s (Dumbreck) at 7pm on Sunday 30th January. All welcome.
