OAKBRIDGE SUMMER FETE
Will be held on 20th August in the grounds of Oakbridge Care Home (Great Western Road) – 2pm – 4pm, entry is £2 – all welcome. Any donations of bottles, unused gifts which could be used for raffle prizes can be handed into Tricia or Laura at Oakbridge during the week.
The loss of a loved one through separation, divorce or death is one of life’s most traumatic experiences. It can result in unbearable feelings of grief and loneliness. The Beginning Experience, Scotland Team, would like to help. A weekend away for a lifetime of change is to be held at Conforti Centre, Coatbridge from 30th September to 2nd October 2022 – a time to heal by experiencing God’s love through others. An opportunity to begin again. For further details phone: Catherine on 0131 665 3383 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
LEGION OF MARY
Our local Legion of Mary Praesidium warmly invites you to its first Patrician’s meeting in St Ninian’s hall on Sunday 28th August from 3pm to 5pm. A Patrician’s meeting involves a short talk followed by an opportunity for discussion. We have chosen the subject of ‘Prayer’ and would like you to come along to share your thoughts and ideas. Refreshments will also be served. If you are interested in looking deeper into your faith please come along to join us and enjoy a chat.
We now have 7 parishioners who are willing to help organise and set up our Sunday morning hall café after 9am and 11am Masses. Again we appeal for more ‘helpers’ – our ideal number is for between 9 – 12 volunteers to help out on a ‘rota’ basis working as a team to prevent any pressure or workload on individuals. Please speak to Fr Frank or Deacon Tommy if you can help out. Many thanks.
We wish all our schoolteachers and pupils a pleasant return and successful academic year – our love and best wishes to all pupils and teachers starting this autumn term at new schools – may you be greeted with hospitality and appreciation
A warm welcome to all those who have recently moved into our neighbourhood and parish – and to anyone visiting our parish over the summer months – we thank you for the blessings you bring to us – may we enrich each other in hospitality and shared prayer.
Our congratulations to the parents and family of Ariana Markovicova who was baptised last weekend (7th August).
